I’m frequently asked “Why golf and music?”
The simple answer is that music and golf are two things in this world that I’m very passionate about. I feel very fortunate to share my love of music and passion for golf with students and clients alike. To me, the two go hand in hand.
This unlikely duo started for me when I was a very young. I would wake up early to hit the golf course with my Grandfather. We’d be on the first tee waiting for the sun to peak over the horizon, often getting in 18 holes before 9:00 a.m.! After those early morning rounds I’d often return to my grandparent’s house to spend hours listening to Jazz music with my Grandmother. It was their early influence that shaped my desire for education in these two fields and later my career.
I went to music school where I devoted myself to Jazz Studies. I was delivering and tuning pianos to help pay for school and the occasional afternoon round of golf.
During this time I started taking my golf game really seriously, improving to a scratch handicap. It occurred to me that if I really wanted to, I could make golf a career as well. At first I thought I needed to pick one or the other.
After struggled with that decision I decided to pursue both careers. This unlikely marriage of two worlds has given me a lot of joy and I’d love to share this with you. I think the greatest similarities golf and music have is that there’s no end to where they can take you, there’s no end to the amount of study and learning involved with each, and there’s no end to the amount of joy you can receive from either.
Whether you’d like to fine tune your golf game, golf equipment, or piano, I’d love to be the one to help you.
